seinfeld Seinfelds Productivity Secret

Seinfeld was a popular television show years ago, and still is today. Jerry Seinfeld is a great comic, but it is probably because of his productivity secret for self-motivation. It is a way to motivate yourself even when you don’t feel like it. Seinfeld wanted to be be a better comic and create better jokes; the way he did this was to write everyday. But the secret lies within how he pressured himself to actually write everyday. This is the secret.

He uses a unique calendar system, a big wall calendar that has the whole year shown on one page. This needs to be in plain view on the wall. Then with each day that you accomplish the task, use a fat red marker to put a big X over that particular day.

Seinfeld says, “After a few days you’ll have a chain. Just keep at it and the chain will grow longer every day. You’ll like seeing that chain, especially when you get a few weeks under your belt. Your only job next is to not break the chain. Don’t break the chain.

This is a great productivity technique that can be used for many different things, such as exercise, forming habits, building a successful business. The reason this works is because of the simple daily action builds momentum and produces a larger result. The journey of a thousand miles is accomplished one step at a time. These daily actions will build habits and help you become a better person.

WARNING: Skipping one day will make it easier to skip the next. “Don’t break the chain!”
