Speaker Daniel J. Schultz of The Law Offices of Daniel J. Schultz discusses the importance on becoming a Precinct Committeeman and how to do it. This is the way that the Conservatives can take back America and make a real difference in the direction of our country; this is the way that real change takes place. This video represents only the highlights and main points that were spoken at the San Tan Valley Tea Party Meeting in Queen Creek, AZ on May 19, 2010.
Precinct Committeeman!!!
The Most Powerful Office in the Country.
What is a Precinct Committeeman?
A Precinct Committeeman is the elected representative from your precinct to your political party.
A Precinct Committeeman is an elected political office.
A Precinct Committeeman is the ONLY PARTY OFFICIAL DIRECTLY ELECTED PARTY MEMBERSHIP.
Ok, but what’s a precinct and is this really that important?
A precinct is the smallest geographical boundary in politics. Technically, a precinct is a geographical area established by law for election purposes. In populated areas such as metro Phoenix and Tucson, a precinct is the size of your neighborhood or possibly several neighborhoods. A large housing subdivision may have several precincts in the subdivision. In less densely populated areas, a precinct most likely will be geographically significantly larger.
Originally, before the days of our modern voter roles, precincts were developed and sized so that every voter knew each other and should a person try to vote in a precinct other than their own, everyone would know they were not “from around here”. The theory continues today.
A Precinct Committeeman represents their political party to the people in their precinct and represents the people to their party. A Precinct Committeeman is a primary contact between voters, candidates and elected officials.
A Precinct Committeeman ELECTS their party hierarchy of officers. Registered voters of each party DO NOT elect their party officers. ONLY PRECINCT COMMITTEMAN ELECT THEIR PARTY OFFICERS. Don’t like the direction your political party is going? Guess who the only person that can change it is? The PRECINCT COMMITTEMAN!
And it is VITALLY important. But there is more to it that as well. Read on for why.
Who is a Precinct Committeeman?
Short answer, YOU!
Any person concerned with: the direction of their state and country; the direction of their political party; the candidates representing their party; and our elected officials NEEDS to be a Precinct Committeeman. Any registered voter affiliated with a party may be a Precinct Committeeman of their respective party. “Affiliated” is the official term for registering to vote and choosing a party.
Why become a Precinct Committeeman?
You need to become a Precinct Committeeman because:
to change things, you must change the laws.
to change the laws, you must change the people making the laws.
to change the people currently making the laws, you must get candidates of our choice elected.
to elect candidates of your choice, they must be on the ballot.
to get candidates of your choice on the November ballot, they must first win the Primary Election.
to win the Primary, they must first get the support of people who make endorsements, who consistently vote in the Primary, and get others out to vote in the Primary.
And/also:
to change the direction of your party, you must change the party officers.
to change the party officers, you must be able to vote on party officers of your choice.
to vote on party officers of your choice, you MUST be a Precinct Committeeman.
And even more:
Candidates endorsed by their party usually win the primary election. Primary endorsements by parties are made by party officers. Party officers are elected by Precinct Committeeman. Hence it is the Precinct Committeeman who determine who gets the chance to be elected to office at every level of government.
Party officers, from the National Committee Chair down, are chosen by the Precinct Committeeman or the party officers elected by the Precinct Committeeman. Precinct Committeeman elect their county chairman and their state party chairman. The state party chairman elect the national committee chair. Hence it is the Precinct Committeeman who determine who gets the chance to be elected to office at every level of their party.
