So, after all the hype of Avatar and that everyone was seeing it, I finally gave in and watched it recently. I figured that since it is the highest grossing movie of all time, with a world wide box office revenue at nearly $3 trillion (over 50% more than Titanic), that there has got to be something in it to be worth that. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. My wife mentioned that it reminded her of “Ferngully: The Last Rainforest,” or perhaps a politically liberal attempt to show that corporations are evil and how we must be environmentally friendly and “go green.”
Matt Bateman makes a pretty good argument for James Cameron’s “Avatar” actually being the same film as Disney’s “Pocahontas.”
